Macron said unauthorized marches will be banned and 60,000 security personnel will be deployed after violence exposed gaps in crowd control.

Junior interior minister Jean-Didier Berger announced a 20% increase in law enforcement numbers, with security reinforced by Sentinelle forces and elite units including RAID, GIGN, and the BRI.
Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu is holding consultations at Matignon to discuss possible changes in public-order policing, though Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella are boycotting while Raphaël Glucksmann confirmed attendance.
LFI coordinator Manuel Bompard will represent the movement after its leader vowed to "wreck" the meeting, as Macron stated "illegitimate" protests will be banned while unions receive alternative paths to protect businesses.
