Macomb County Jail inmates moving to other facilities during massive project

Macomb County has been sending inmates to other county jails in recent weeks and soon will start farming out more of them to accommodate the renovation portion of the $229-million jail project. Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said about 40 inmates were transported to the Lapeer, St. Clair and Clare county jails late last year and more inmates will be shipped out beginning around April 1.
