UNITED STATES, JUL 31 – Lynette Howell Taylor brings extensive leadership experience and a successful producing career to the Academy, becoming the fifth woman to lead the organization behind the Oscars.
- On Thursday, Producer Lynette Howell Taylor was elected president by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Board of Governors, succeeding Janet Yang, CEO Bill Kramer said.
- Amid her tenure on the Academy Board of Governors, Taylor has been an Academy member since 2014 and served three years as vice president and Awards Committee chair.
- Taylor’s production portfolio includes A Star Is Born, The Accountant, The Accountant 2 and Blue Valentine, and she produced the 92nd Oscars broadcast.
- Following Taylor’s election, the board elected Lesley Barber, Jennifer Fox, Simon Kilmurry, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Howard A. Rodman to key leadership roles, Bill Kramer said.
- With an eye to the future, the Academy will add awards for stunt design and casting directors this year, while returning Conan O’Brien as 2026 host.
