The Ministry of Rural Affairs calls for the extension of all preventive measures in the face of lumpy skin disease (DNC), avoiding, to the extent possible, the transfer of bovine animals from areas close to the outbreaks of this disease detected in European countries (including Italy and France) and increasing biosafety measures, both in the movement of animals from these countries and in the holdings themselves.

A first outbreak of lumpy skin disease (LSD) has been detected in the Ain department. Cattle from the infected herd will have to be slaughtered, the department's prefecture announced on Sunday.
