Mikaylah Williams Wins Gold for Team USA at FIBA 3x3 World Cup
Williams hit the game-sealing shot as Team USA beat Australia 21-20 for its fourth 3x3 World Cup gold.
On Sunday, Team USA secured the gold medal at the 2026 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Warsaw, Poland, defeating Australia 21-20. LSU guard Mikaylah Williams hit the game-sealing shot to clinch the victory.
The championship team included LSU guard MiLaysia Fulwiley, South Carolina forward Joyce Edwards, and Oklahoma's Sahara Williams. This roster capped a dominant run, winning 18 of 19 games played since May 1.
Named tournament MVP, Williams hit game-winning shots against Azerbaijan in the semifinals and Australia in the final. Fulwiley provided defensive support, blocking a team-high 10 shots throughout the competition.
Williams, Fulwiley, and LSU center Kate Koval will return to Baton Rouge for the 2026-27 season. Teammate Kelsi Andrews is set to compete for the United States at the 2026 FIBA U18 Women's AmeriCup.
USA Basketball has now won gold four times at the 3x3 World Cup since the event's 2012 inception. The victory reflects a sustained competitive standard for the National Team program.
