According to Ecuadorian authorities, who were in the blast area on Wednesday morning, there was one death and at least 26 injuries, two of them serious.
The criminal group “Los Lobos” is linked to members of the Sinaloa Cartel and is also related to the bombings in Ecuador; they have even been named by the FBI as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, but who are they? At the beginning of September, the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Kash Patel, said that the United States is eliminating drug trafficking at its root.
The two vehicles loaded with explosives departed from an enclave controlled by Los Situfos, a faction of Los Lobos, located in front of the prison complex in northern Guayaquil. The attack would be interpreted as retaliation for the bombing of illegal mining in Imbabura. According to investigations by the Prosecutor’s Office, the message was addressed directly to President Daniel Noboa:
