Long snapper cuts short camping trip and locates passport to sign with Jaguars in London
Jacksonville signed the veteran long snapper after Ross Matiscik injured his shoulder, and Bobenmoyer flew overnight after a passport delay.
The Jacksonville Jaguars signed long snapper Jacob Bobenmoyer to the practice squad following their 19-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Ross Matiscik sustained a right shoulder injury while covering a punt during the first quarter, forcing the Jaguars to urgently source a replacement long snapper for their ongoing London trip.
While camping with his two children in Colorado, Bobenmoyer received the call, secured childcare, and reached Denver International Airport within 12 hours to board United Flight 262 to London on October 11.
The Jaguars must elevate Bobenmoyer from the practice squad by 4 p.m. Eastern on Saturday to make him eligible for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans at Wembley Stadium.
Coach Liam Coen said the team may wait until 90 minutes before kickoff to finalize the inactive list, as Bobenmoyer prepares for what could be his 97th NFL game.
