- On Tuesday night at the Galen Center, the No. 16 USC women’s basketball team beat Saint Mary’s 79-33, holding the Gaels to their fewest points this season.
- Through aggressive defense, USC forced 29 turnovers, produced 16 steals and 29 rebounds while holding Saint Mary’s under 30% shooting in the paint and 15% from three.
- Offensively, USC got contributions from senior guard Londynn Jones with a game-high 17 points off the bench, sophomore Kennedy Smith added 15 points and five rebounds, and the bench supplied 33 points overall.
- Riding the victory, USC earns its third straight win and now turns toward Big Ten Conference play with Washington at home on Sunday.
- With a tougher slate approaching, Coach Lindsay Gottlieb said we can play really long, lengthy, and go smaller to get up in opponents ahead of Connecticut’s visit on Dec. 13.
