London Marathon 2027 ballot - how to enter next year's race
Organisers say more than 59,000 runners are expected this year as they consider a one-off two-day format for 2027.
The London Marathon Ballot for the 2027 TCS London Marathon is now open, with runners having until 4pm on May 1, 2026, to apply for a place in the upcoming event.
Organizers are exploring a one-off two-day event for 2027, which would allow participants to run on Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 26, if official permission is granted.
Entry fees for the 2027 race vary, ranging from £49.99 for "Double your chances" entries to £225 for International participants, with selection determined by a random draw similar to the National Lottery.
Beyond the ballot, participants can also secure spots by applying through a charity, qualifying with a "good for age" time, or running for a British Athletics Club.
As runners prepare for today's race on Sunday, April 26, 2026, more than 59,000 participants are expected to compete in the London Marathon amid temperatures of up to 19 °C.
