Logitech Starts Manufacturing in India, Begins with Webcams, Pointing Devices
The company is starting with webcams and mice as it expands local production and works with Indian partners to strengthen supply chains and cut turnaround times.
On Thursday, Logitech announced the commencement of local manufacturing at a facility in Manesar, Haryana, initially assembling personal workspace solutions including mice and webcams for its Indian customer base.
The move aligns with the 'Make in India' initiative and helps the Swiss technology company diversify its global manufacturing footprint beyond China, marking India as Logitech's seventh manufacturing location.
Sree Chenincherry, Chief Supply Chain Operations Officer at Logitech, noted the company is partnering with local providers who must build capabilities to meet rigorous global quality benchmarks, involving extensive knowledge transfer and technical standards.
Delphine Donn, Vice President and General Manager of Personal Work Solutions at Logitech, said local production enhances operational agility and reduces turnaround times, allowing the firm to react faster to evolving business needs.
Beyond domestic demand, Logitech may eventually utilize India as an export hub while integrating AI-powered hardware into its portfolio and pursuing a target to halve global carbon emissions by FY30.
