SMITHFIELD – Special Olympics Rhode Island will celebrate its 50th annual Penguin Plunge on Jan. 1. The milestone celebration drew a first-ever $50,000 sponsorship, donated by the Freemasons of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Shriners.
