Liverpool suffer more heartbreak as late goal ends Wembley dream
Brighton reached their first Women's FA Cup final on Saturday after a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory against Liverpool in St Helens, with substitute Nadine Noordam scoring the stoppage-time winner.
The Seagulls faced an uphill battle after falling 2-0 down within 22 minutes to goals from Denise O'Sullivan and Beata Olsson, but Albion rallied through Manuela Vanegas and Madison Haley to level.
Former Socceroo Dario Vidosic became the first Australian manager to reach the final since 2021, building on his record fifth-place finish in last year's Women's Super League.
Wembley hosts the final on May 31, and Vidosic told his squad, 'It's not every day you get to go to an FA Cup final- so the message to the girls will be enjoy this moment.'
The Chelsea and Manchester City match at Stamford Bridge later on Sunday will determine Brighton's final opponent, with the winner advancing to face the Seagulls at Wembley.
Nadine Noordam has made history at Brighton & Hove Albion. In the FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool, she scored the 2-3 deep in injury time. It was her first goal for the English club, which is going to Wembley for the first time in history.
