Liverpool great Dalglish reveals cancer diagnosis and says ‘treatment is going well’
The 75-year-old Liverpool great said the diagnosis was shared accidentally and thanked medical staff for their care and discretion.
- On Tuesday, 75-year-old Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish announced he is receiving cancer treatment via Instagram, confirming that the treatment "is going well" despite planning to keep the diagnosis private.
- Dalglish wrote that his "useless technology skills" forced his hand, explaining he inadvertently revealed the news when he intended to keep his diagnosis private.
- Known as "King Kenny," Dalglish won six English league titles and three European Cups for Liverpool, making 515 appearances, and raised more than £10m for charity following the Hillsborough disaster.
- Liverpool stated "the support, best wishes and love of everyone" are with Dalglish and his family, while retired striker Alan Shearer said, "Everyone is with you Kenny."
