Bodine Hits Go-Ahead Homer in 10th, Coastal Carolina Opens Super Regional with 7-6 Win over Auburn
Coastal Carolina secured a 4-1 win over Auburn on June 7 to complete a sweep in the Super Regional series, earning their second trip to the College World Series.
The Chanticleers opened the series with a 7-6 win early Saturday morning after a weather delay and a 10th-inning go-ahead homer by Caden Bodine.
Coastal Carolina extended their winning streak to 23 games, with pitchers Jacob Morrison and Hayden Johnson combining to limit Auburn to one run and eight hits in Game 2.
Bodine and Blagen Pado both hit two home runs in the series opener, while Morrison had six strikeouts in six innings and Johnson added five strikeouts over three scoreless innings.
Auburn's season ended at 41-20 on their home field as Coastal Carolina swept the Super Regional and will attempt to repeat their 2016 national championship.
