Colombia and the United States strengthened their bilateral agenda on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 with the signing of new agreements related to strategic minerals, nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and cooperation in border security matters. The understandings were announced during the visit of the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, to Barranquilla.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio and President Abelardo de la Espriella signed bilateral agreements in Barranquilla to strengthen strategic supply chains in the face of global competition.
