Prince and Princess of Wales Arrive in Belfast for a One-Day Visit to Northern Ireland
The couple met community groups and Homewards partners as the project works to turn a former church into a self-sustaining community centre.
On Friday, October 9, 2026, the Prince and Princess of Wales arrived in Belfast, Northern Ireland, for a one-day visit supporting the Homewards initiative, a five-year project founded by the couple to address youth homelessness.
The couple toured The Commons on the Ormeau Road, a former church transformed into a self-sustaining community centre, which supports the Homewards project's blueprint for ending homelessness across six regions.
During the visit, the royals met employment partners including Pauline McGourann of the Sew-Cial Circle, and reviewed future plans for site additions: "The Ceili House," "The Craic," and "The Curragh."
The Princess of Wales wore Cartier "Trinity" earrings, a personal choice often linked to her three children, while emphasizing that strong social relationships assist young people in achieving stability and independence.
Attired in an Emilia Wickstead skirt "in military green Shetland tartan," the Princess conducted her first official engagement of October, continuing the couple's long-term commitment to community-based projects.
