Little Caesars Tests Pizza Delivery by Drone in Texas
The test linked orders directly to the restaurant register and delivered two large pizzas and drinks in four minutes, Flytrex said.
- On April 23, Little Caesars launched high-capacity drone delivery in Wylie, Texas, using Flytrex's Sky2 drone to deliver full family meals within a four-mile radius in roughly 4½ minutes.
- Unlike standard quadcopters, the Sky2 utilizes an eight-rotor octocopter design to handle nearly 9 pounds of food, marking the first time a pizza franchise integrated drone orders directly into its kitchen system.
- "The Sky2 changes that," Regev said, noting drones previously could not deliver full family meals, while Trish Heusel, vice president of innovation at Little Caesars, emphasized the company's focus on customer convenience.
