Lisa Tertsch from Darmstadt is the first German triathlon world champion. At the final of the World Cup series in the Australian Wollongong south of Sydney, the 26-year-old secured her second win in the season after 1.5 km of swimming, 40 km of cycling and 10 km of running and thus the historic title.
Before the World Cup highlight she was fourth, then Lisa Tertsch finished the triathlon of her life in the season finale. The first German world champion on the short distance would have almost finished her career a few years ago.
