Lions Sign Former Pro Bowl LB Devin White Following His Productive 2025 Season with Raiders
Devin White, a former All-Pro and 2019 top-five pick, joins Detroit after posting 174 tackles last season.
On Saturday, the Detroit Lions signed veteran linebacker Devin White to a 1-year contract, bolstering their defense as the team looks to contend in the NFC North this year.
Detroit was "quietly exploring a move" at linebacker prior to adding White, per Schultz, after rookie linebacker Jimmy Rolder exited practice early Friday with a leg injury.
The 28-year-old White started all 17 games for the Las Vegas Raiders last season, recording a career-high 174 tackles, which ranked 3rd in the NFL, plus 2.5 sacks and 1 interception.
Now on his 5th team in 4 seasons, White is an exceptional early-down defender, though he allowed a 92.5 passer rating and amassed 26 missed tackles in coverage last season.
White previously stated he aims to "rebuild myself and show I can be that dominant middle linebacker" while joining a great team, and he now integrates into Detroit's linebacking corps for 2026.
