To the editor: On April 27 the Perry Community School District adopted the 2026-2027 budget, which they claim the overall tax rate went down by .05 of a percentage point from 18.58879 to 18.53669. What they failed to inform the public about was that of this new tax rate, 3% is a property tax that is not necessary, in my opinion.
