Letter: Reading should look to past as it plans skating rink in park

Doesn’t anyone in Reading’s government remember that the City Park tennis courts were also the ice-skating rink and could be used for that again (“New site picked for ice-skating rink,” Reading Eagle, Aug. 15)? It already has a permanent concrete pad, and the only electricity needed is for lights. Why waste money for a third-party rink operator and refrigeration unit when a firetruck can fill the rink, the lights can be put on a timer and nature…
