Leinster weather Stormers to set up Bulls final rematch
Leinster scored two tries and held the Stormers to one as Rieko Ioane and Jamison Gibson-Park helped seal a 20-11 win.
Leinster defeated the Stormers 20-11 at Aviva Stadium on Friday, securing a spot in the United Rugby Championship final against the Bulls.
The match turned when Stormers flanker Ruan Ackermann received a 20-minute red card for a reckless shoulder charge on Kelleher with 12 minutes remaining. Jamison Gibson-Park scored the decisive try immediately after.
Despite leading 13-0, Leinster's momentum stalled after Andrew Porter suffered a concerning injury, allowing the South Africans to narrow the gap to 13-11. A modest crowd of 15,346 watched the tense encounter.
Leinster will now host the Bulls at Croke Park in Dublin for the United Rugby Championship final. Coach Leo Cullen acknowledged improvements are necessary before the clash in 13 days' time.
The Bulls reached the final after overcoming Glasgow Warriors 22-21 at Murrayfield, avenging a defeat from two years ago. This sets up a rematch between the defending champions and South African side.
