Legal Trailblazer Matthew Syken Launches National Law Student Scholarship in Los Angeles, CA
The winner will receive a $1,000 grant for an original essay on emerging legal challenges, ethics, policy reform, or innovation.
On Thursday, corporate and securities attorney Matthew Syken announced the Matthew Syken Scholarship for Law Students in Los Angeles, a national program designed to support undergraduate students pursuing legal careers.
Drawing on his extensive background in corporate and securities law spanning over two decades, Syken established the initiative to foster mentorship, academic excellence, and integrity within the legal profession.
The program awards a one-time $1,000 grant to the selected recipient, who must submit an original essay analyzing current legal issues or emerging challenges within the U.S. legal system.
Currently enrolled undergraduates at accredited institutions throughout the United States must submit applications by January 15, 2027, with the scholarship recipient announced on February 15, 2027.
Beyond his legal practice, Syken leverages his experience as a University of California instructor to encourage rigorous intellectual engagement and inspire future legal professionals to approach complex challenges thoughtfully.
