‘Legacy of life’: A mom shares how Kyle Busch’s Bundle of Joy Fund grew her family
The nonprofit has awarded 178 grants totaling over $2.3 million and helped welcome 111 babies through IVF, officials said.
Charlotte residents Jessica and her husband welcomed daughter Lola in 2019 and son Mason 15 months later through IVF treatments funded by NASCAR driver Kyle Busch and his wife Samantha Busch's Bundle of Joy Fund.
After five years of unsuccessful attempts to conceive despite fertility treatments, the couple applied for the Bundle of Joy Fund grant in 2018, describing it as their final 'Hail Mary attempt' at parenthood.
When they arrived for their grant interview, Samantha Busch presented them with $20,000 to cover one complete IVF cycle; the fund has distributed 178 grants worth over $2.3 million resulting in 111 births by May 21.
The Lizarazos became active participants in the Bundle of Joy community, with Mason walking a runway fundraiser alongside the Busch family and Lola's artwork raising $375 for the organization.
Jessica Lizarazo said Kyle Busch's legacy through the Bundle of Joy Fund ensures 'he will never truly be gone,' as more than 100 children alive today exist because of his work making IVF affordable for families.
