Larry the Camel has been a beloved fixture in the Grand and Routt county communities for years. He lived at Troublesome Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation. This center for rescued horses, donkeys, mules and other ranch animals is located on Chipeta Ranch outside of Kremmling. Tragically, Larry passed away on July 4. Larry the camel is a celebrity around northern Colorado, appearing in parades and at local schools and senior centers. Two days after visiting a group of seniors on the Fourth of July, Larry was hit by lightning and killed.
