'Land of Neighbors' Launched to Unite Minnesotans Tired of Outrage and Division
Organizers hope to reach 10% of Minnesotans, or about 580,000 people, in the first year through listening sessions and digital feedback.
On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, a coalition of Minnesota nonprofits launched the 'Minnesota: Land of Neighbors' campaign to help residents bridge political divides and find common ground.
Many Minnesotans feel exhausted by division and outrage, prompting organizers to create space for residents to 'speak honestly' about what matters to them.
Wilk Wilkinson, Braver Angels director of media systems and operations, told Forum News Service the campaign hopes to engage approximately 580,000 people, or 10% of Minnesotans, in its first year.
The campaign begins hosting listening sessions across the state, with the first event scheduled for July 15 in Fergus Falls, followed by sessions in Red Wing and the Twin Cities.
Libby Stegger, Executive Director at Civic Bridgers, said many Minnesotans 'desire more humanity in how we live together,' emphasizing the campaign's grassroots approach to strengthen local connections.
