Lana Del Rey Announces Surprise Companion Album
Del Rey said the companion project was compiled with collaborators and took a month to finish before both albums were sent to vinyl.
Lana Del Rey announced on a mid-week surprise that her upcoming album 'Stove' will be accompanied by a 'beautiful, secondary album,' each representing different parts of her journey over the last four years.
The artist has long teased the release, which follows 2023's 'Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,' with 'Stove' originally titled 'Lasso,' then 'The Right Person Will Stay,' before its current name.
Describing 'Stove' as 'so lovely and intact as it was intended to be—a classic album,' the singer-songwriter added the companion project is a 'commentary of sorts on everything that has been going on.'
Artwork revealed for the albums features flowers for 'Stove' and a boat named 'Spyda,' with vinyl records heading to the manufacturer 'in about a month' for a targeted fall release.
Del Rey expressed gratitude to loyal supporters, stating she is 'so grateful to everyone who' has remained on board, and anticipates being the 'survivor of all this pop stuff 20 years from now.
