Emmanuel Acho Has No Sympathy for Austin Reaves After Thunder Rout
Reaves shot 3-for-16 and committed four turnovers as Oklahoma City limited him to 0-for-10 on contested attempts, ESPN Tracking said.
On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder 108-90 in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals, as guard Austin Reaves struggled in his third game since returning from an oblique injury.
Thunder coach Mark Daigneault credited his team's defensive plan for limiting Reaves, stating, "With him, you just can't give him a lot of cracks," which kept him from the free-throw line.
Reaves shot 3-for-16 and committed a team-high four turnovers during the loss; ESPN Tracking noted he shot 0-for-10 on contested shots, the first player to do so in a playoff game since Draymond Green in 2023.
Marcus Smart took accountability for his performance, stating, "It starts with me," while Lakers coach JJ Redick and forward LeBron James expressed confidence Reaves would regain his form despite the month-long absence.
The Lakers face Game 2 on Thursday without Luka Doncic as Reaves vowed to improve, stating, "I got to go out there and play better." The series continues at 9:30 p.m. ET.
