- Inspired by the January wildfires, LA28 said the program taps Los Angeles's resilience and aims to expand volunteering while creating a lasting community legacy tied to the Games.
- In October, LA28 piloted events with Shine LA and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank after LA28 staff joined more than 100 community activities; registered community volunteers will receive email event invitations.
- Organizers said volunteers will be stationed at all venues and major transportation hubs including the airport, and LA28 estimated it will need between 50,000 and 70,000 volunteers while early volunteering is not required and registration does not guarantee a spot.
- Potential volunteers can register interest now for the Olympics beginning July 14, 2028, and the Paralympics opening Aug. 15, while applications open summer of 2026; Delta Air Lines pledged to help sustain the program.
