LA County jobless rate drops to 5% in August

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles County’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 5% in August, down from a revised 5.3% in July and 5.6% a year earlier, according to figures released Friday by the state Employment Development Department.

Unemployment rates for state, county inch down in August

The Texas Workforce Commission released labor market statistics for August last week and they showed that the statewide seasonally-adjusted unemployment fell 0.1 of a percent to 4.4, slightly higher than the nationwide rate of 4.1 percent.

County Unemployment Rate Rises

Mason County’s unemployment rate rose from July to August. According to Washington State Employment Security, the County’s unemployment rate last month was 5.2%.
