Kwanzaa celebration comes to Willis Park

A group of Bainbridge residents marked the start of Kwanzaa with a candlelighting ceremony in Willis Park on Friday. Organizer Rahn Fudge of The Phoenix Affaire Group said he believed it was the first-ever observance of its kind in Bainbridge to “bring Kwanzaa out of the darkness, into the light, and into the center of town.” The ceremony was held on the first night of the week-long holiday, which ends Jan. 1.
