Draisaitl, McDavid Score Late to Lift Oilers to 3-1 Win over Kraken
Connor McDavid had a goal and an assist as Edmonton won its second straight game and improved to 2-0-1.
On Saturday, the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Seattle Kraken 3-1, improving to 2-0-1 on the season. Connor McDavid recorded a goal and an assist in the victory.
Leon Draisaitl and Owen Michaels also scored for Edmonton. Michaels, a 24-year-old Michigan native, signed as a free agent and has tallied two goals in his first three professional games.
Edmonton has historically dominated Seattle, entering the contest with a 15-4-1 overall record against the Kraken and an 8-1-0 mark at home. The Oilers have four of the top five all-time scorers against Seattle.
Devon Levi made 19 stops to earn the victory for Edmonton, while Philipp Grubauer recorded 22 saves for Seattle. The goaltending performance proved decisive in the Oilers' win.
The Kraken host the Calgary Flames on Sunday in their home-opener, while the Oilers travel to Anaheim for a first-round rematch against the Ducks on Wednesday.
