JJ Peterka Scores in OT to Lift the Bruins Past the Jets, 4-3
Goaltender Jeremy Swayman made 31 saves as the Bruins erased a third-period deficit to force overtime.
On Friday, forward JJ Peterka scored 3:21 into overtime to lead the Boston Bruins to a 4-3 victory over the Winnipeg Jets before 15,209 fans at Canada Life Centre.
Trailing 3-2 late in the third, the Bruins pulled goaltender Jeremy Swayman for an extra attacker, allowing forward Elias Lindholm to redirect a pass from forward David Pastrnak with 1:38 remaining.
Rookie forward James Hagens netted his first NHL goal at 15:20 of the first period, building on an earlier tally by defenseman Hampus Lindholm that gave Boston a 2-1 lead after one.
Despite goals from defenseman Dylan DeMelo, forward Kyle Connor, and defenseman Mario Ferraro, the Winnipeg Jets could not hold their 3-2 lead as Swayman finished with 30 saves to earn the win.
Boston continues its road trip on Saturday, visiting the Minnesota Wild, while the Jets travel to face Detroit on Sunday.
