$9 Million Project Approved to Protect Vietnam’s Iconic Bay from Wastewater Pollution
Khanh Hoa Province in south-central Vietnam has greenlit a nearly $9 million investment to collect and treat wastewater before discharge, targeting the elimination of persistent pollution in the renowned Nha Trang Bay.
(Dan Tri Newspaper) - According to the People's Committee of Bac Nha Trang ward (Khanh Hoa province), the prolonged pollution in the coastal area is attributed to the lack of a synchronized drainage and wastewater treatment system.
Khanh Hoa province is spending over 230 billion VND on a project aimed at ending the situation where untreated wastewater flows directly into the Nha Trang Bay national scenic area.
Domestic wastewater that previously flowed directly into the sea and rivers in some areas will be separated and sent to treatment plants. Five discharge points along the northern beach of Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) will be closed as part of a project worth over 232 billion VND.
