- Under the hold, Sullivan aims to pressure the Pentagon to reopen Adak Naval Air Station in the Aleutian Islands, which housed 6,000 troops before closing in 1997, Politico reported.
- Without objection, Caudle advanced, as Politico reported recently, amid a five-month vacancy since Adm. Lisa Franchetti was fired in February.
- Following the hold, Senate leaders now must strike a deal with Sullivan to confirm Caudle, and on Thursday night they voted to proceed after the brief delay.
