Key Patriots Player to Miss ‘Multiple Weeks’ After Suffering Injury in Win over Raiders
On Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson will miss multiple weeks with a high ankle sprain suffered during Sunday's 45-17 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Henderson sustained the injury early in the second quarter during an 11-yard rush when Raiders safety Jeremey Chinn rolled onto his ankle, compounding a right ankle injury that sidelined him Week 1.
With Henderson sidelined, the Patriots will rely on Rhamondre Stevenson to carry the workload. Stevenson collected 53 snaps in Sunday's win, rushing for 64 yards and hauling in three passes for 21 yards.
The team has already lost 19 players to reserve rosters this season, with 13 currently on injured reserve, forcing reliance on depth pieces like Corey Kiner. Henderson does not require surgery and is regarded as a quick healer.
Head coach Mike Vrabel noted the team needs Stevenson's ability to "create plays out in space and catch the ball." The Patriots may also utilize practice squad member Lan Larison for additional backfield opportunities.
