For more than eighty years he was a soldier of the 1939-1945 war. Buried anonymously in plot 25, row B, grave 17 of the Airborne Cemetery in Oosterbeek. But thanks to amateur historian Mateusz Mróz, Kazimierz Chartanowicz (22) now rests under a stone bearing his name.
