Juul agrees to pay $438.5 million settlement over marketing to teens

Summary by Ground News
Juul Labs Inc. reached an agreement in principle to pay $438.5 million to 33 states to resolve a two-year bipartisan probe. The accord would force Juul to comply with a series of strict injunctive terms severely limiting their marketing and sales practices. Under the deal, Juul will refrain from all youth marketing, paid product placement and advertising on public transportation. Vaping is up among teens even while smoking is down. More than 5 million youth reported having used e-cigarettes within the past 30 days, up from 3.6 million just one year prior.
