The crew of Sodebo Ultim 3 started their tour of the world on Monday 15 December in the hope of breaking a new record for the Jules Verne Trophy. Among the seven crew members, the Nantes skipper Pierre Leboucher wanted to wish the Ligerians a good year.
While he was in a very good position after passing the Cape of Good Hope, Thomas Coville saw his virtual lead on the record melt in recent days as part of the Jules-Verne Trophy in the Indian Ocean.
The crew of Sodebo Ultim 3 has once again sent stunning images of the flying trimaran in the Indian Ocean. The team still maintains a 300-nautical-mile lead over IDEC Sport's record, but this is rapidly shrinking due to inclement weather, while Francis Joyon's crew has been putting on an incredible display, averaging speeds of 36.6 knots on a direct course. Sodebo Ultim 3 is now entering its 15th day at sea. There's still a long way to go.
