Josh Jacobs to Get Full Week of Practice, Game Status to Be Determined
The NFL removed Jacobs from the commissioner’s exempt list, and Matt LaFleur said the running back could provide a spark to Green Bay’s league-worst ground game.
On Monday, the NFL removed running back Josh Jacobs from the Commissioner Exempt list, and Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Jacobs will participate in a full week of practice.
The league placed Jacobs on the exempt list August 30 after charges were filed stemming from a May incident; he pleaded no contest last month to misdemeanor battery and criminal damage charges.
Without Jacobs, the Packers have averaged a league-worst 59.8 yards rushing per game and failed to reach 100 yards rushing in any game this season.
Coach Matt LaFleur said Jacobs' status for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions is "to be determined," though he believes the "elite-level back" could provide a needed spark.
The NFL continues to investigate the case, meaning Jacobs could face further punishment later, while defensive end Micah Parsons will not return to practice this week due to ACL surgery recovery.
