John Patrick Rogers Calls for Greater Support and Inclusion for Disabled Individuals
Rogers says more than 1 in 4 U.S. adults live with a disability and urges small acts of support and local volunteering.
Huntington Beach aerospace professional John Patrick Rogers is urging communities to increase support for disabled individuals through compassion, awareness, and everyday action.
His career with Boeing and the Naval Weapons Station in Seal Beach shaped his philosophy on interdependence. "In aerospace, everyone matters because people depend on each other," Rogers explained, believing society should function similarly.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 1 in 4 adults in the United States live with some form of disability, often facing social isolation, unemployment, and limited access to services.
Emphasizing empathy gained from personal hardships, Rogers argues everyone brings value to society. "Everybody can contribute something positive," Rogers said, noting even small actions can improve someone's life.
Rogers hopes younger generations will prioritize compassion alongside innovation by supporting local organizations and promoting accessibility awareness for disabled Americans facing daily obstacles.
