Jimmy Eat World Unveils ‘Bleed American’ 25th Anniversary Tour: ‘It Changed Our Lives’
Jimmy Eat World will perform their 1.7 million-selling album Bleed American in full on a summer tour with multiple support acts and international festival stops.
- Jimmy Eat World announced a tour this summer to mark Bleed American’s 25th anniversary, starting June 9 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre with artist, Citi and American Express presales beginning Feb. 11.
- Bleed American sold 1.7 million copies and produced the Hot 100 top-five hit The Middle, with frontman Jim Adkins, frontman, saying it `changed our lives` and inspired fans.
- The itinerary features four Vans Warped Tour stops, U.K. stadium dates and a Mexico City appearance, with support from Sunny Day Real Estate, Rise Against, the Get Up Kids, Thrice and others.
- Fans can expect the Aug. 15 Cardiff Castle show, already sold out and billed as the band's biggest U.K. concert ever, to prompt band remembrances.
- After early setbacks, Capitol Records dropped Jimmy Eat World after two albums, leading the band to fund Bleed American through an independent Singles release and day jobs; the album's title changed after 9/11 but was reinstated for a 2008 deluxe edition.
