Jimmie Johnson Set to Leave NASCAR with Famous Friends in Tow and a Star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame
Johnson is building Legacy with celebrity investors and expects his Hollywood Walk of Fame star to be unveiled during Daytona 500 week.
NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson will make his final Cup Series start at the Daytona 500 next year, coinciding with his induction to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 50-year-old Johnson, a winner of 83 career races and five consecutive series titles, now manages his team as majority owner of Legacy under investment adviser Knighthead Capital Management.
Johnson expanded Legacy's ownership group last month to include Grammy Award winner Darius Rucker and MLB All-Star Chase Utley, while working to bring sponsor Lowe's back to the No. 48 car.
Drivers Erik Jones and John Hunter Nemechek currently compete for Legacy, while Johnson actively searches to announce a third driver for the 2027 season.
Johnson is aggressively pushing to unveil his Hollywood star on the Tuesday of Daytona 500 week, timing the career honor with his final racing moment.
