‘Jeopardy!’ Champ Chris D’Angelo Talks Awkwafina Link as He Goes for Win No. 3
Chris D’Angelo’s run drew on the real-life path that inspired Quiz Lady, and he finished with a three-day total of $53,600.
Jeopardy champion Angelo secured his third consecutive victory on May 22, defeating challengers Mary Morris and Jeff Weyhmiller with a three-day total of $53,600.
Angelo's journey to audition for the show inspired the film Quiz Lady, starring Awkwafina and Sandra, with his sister Jen writing the screenplay for the Primetime Emmy and Outstanding Television Movie winner.
During Final Jeopardy under Literary Terminology, Angelo correctly answered a clue about 17th century critic Thomas Rymer, wagering $4,600 to reach his $25,000 final total for the game.
Angelo maintained the lead throughout, locating the final Daily Double on clue 14 and will return on Monday for his fourth consecutive game.
The Haverford native has auditioned since 2005, finally achieving his goal 21 years later, transforming his persistence into a multi-day championship run.
