JDMBUYSELL launches JDM Demand Index as buyer interest shifts toward affordable imports
JDMBUYSELL launched the JDM Demand Index, a monthly ranking of buyer interest in its U.S. marketplace for Japanese imports since 2009.
The index shows buyer interest shifting from expensive, iconic cars toward affordable, practical Japanese imports like kei vans, wagons, and entry sports cars.
The Subaru Sambar’s buyer interest rose 140% in 30 days, and the Nissan Stagea’s interest also increased significantly, highlighting this trend.
The U.S. 25-year import rule will allow more 2001 Japanese cars into the market starting in 2026, expanding buyers for models like the Nissan Skyline R34.
