Jaylen Brown says he has no beef with former Celtics teammate Jayson Tatum
Tatum said he has no animosity toward Brown and urged attention on the pair’s 2024 championship run.
- On October 23, Philadelphia 76ers guard Jaylen Brown accused Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum of lying by responding to a YouTube video with a blue cap emoji, slang for untruthful, after Tatum claimed he was 'just as much caught off guard as the rest of the world' regarding his trade.
- The two stars spent nine seasons together in Boston, winning the 2024 championship, before the Celtics chose to trade Brown to manage payrolls involving two $300 million contracts.
- After the postgame conference Friday, Brown countered that while there is no 'beef,' there might be 'a little lamb chops and some gravy' instead of personal animosity with Tatum.
- Their first head-to-head matchup is scheduled for November 10 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, intensifying scrutiny as the former teammates continue fielding inquiries about their relationship throughout the 2026-27 season.
- Despite ongoing public exchanges, both players have emphasized their shared success, including two Finals appearances and the 2024 championship, though the transition remains a point of contention as they pursue separate team goals.
