Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl halftime show at SoFi Stadium in Southern California
The announcement ends weeks of speculation and marks Jay-Z’s first Super Bowl halftime performance after years of helping choose the show’s headliners.
- On Monday, the NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation announced that rapper Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl LXI halftime show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on February 14, 2027.
- Roc Nation, the entertainment firm founded by Jay-Z, has partnered with the NFL since 2019 to serve as the league's live music entertainment strategist, overseeing the annual halftime spectacle.
- Concluding his 'Jay-Z 30' concert series with two shows at SoFi Stadium on October 23 and 24, the rapper effectively held a warm-up performance at the venue where he will perform in February.
- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said he requested the artist take the stage whenever the moment felt right, though Jay-Z had famously declined a 2017 offer based on "principle."
- Speculation surrounds potential guest performers, with fans and reports suggesting his wife, singer Beyoncé, may join him given their history of frequent collaborations; however, no additional performers have been officially confirmed.
