The number of people infected with hepatitis A broke records last year and again this spring, but the situation is now calming down. Last year, 3,253 people were reported infected in the Czech Republic. This year, there have been 1,413 new cases so far, 109 of which were in July. One person died of the disease last month. According to epidemiologists, the seemingly stabilized situation may worsen after the holidays.
