Sweden's Frida Karlsson is the winner of the first running event at the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games. She convincingly beat all the competition in the 10 + 10 kilometer skiathlon event in Tesero. The only Slovenian representative, Neža Žerjav, ended the race early when the winner overtook her for a lap.

This was the best Czech finish among women since Eva Vrabcová-Nývltová's fifth place at the Sochi Games in 2014. Sweden's Frida Karlsson won the gold in Tesero with a commanding performance.
