Closing Arguments on Tap in Trial of Colorado Dentist Accused of Fatally Poisoning Wife
ARAPAHOE COUNTY, COLORADO, JUL 28 – The prosecution and defense have completed witness testimony after 10 days, with closing arguments set to decide the case against the former Aurora dentist.
- During the tenth day of testimony on Monday, the defense rested without calling witnesses and prosecutors rested their case in Judge Shay Whitaker’s courtroom.
- Earlier this month, prosecutors alleged James Craig, former Aurora dentist, poisoned his wife amid financial troubles and an affair, with Angela Craig dying on March 18, 2023.
- During last week’s testimony, a cellphone and computer investigator testified Craig searched from his dental office for poisons, and an autopsy report found lethal cyanide and tetrahydrozoline levels in Angela’s system.
- Last week, family members told jurors that two of Craig’s daughters asserted Angela was not suicidal and spoke fondly about the future, while her brother, Mark Pray, testified she “absolutely loved being a mother.”
- Craig is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of solicitation to commit tampering with physical evidence, and solicitation to commit perjury, before Judge Shay Whitaker in Arapahoe County.
